On May 7 th , 2017, a group of Ethiopians from the province of
Gondar formed a voluntary committee to help raise funds on behalf of a fellow Gondere. Following the success of the fundraising, members of the committee realized how significant their collaboration could be in their people’s times of dire need and decided to organize themselves for the vital goal of providing assistance to the local people of Gondar and Ethiopians in the diaspora.
